Department of Corrections(DOC)

 Eastern Kentucky University's Training Resource Center assists the KY Department of Corrections through two agreements. One agreement consists of TRC providing training and IT professional support to the KY DOC; it also provides technical assistance through the employment of certified auditors who perform mock audits on behalf of the KY DOC. TRC also contracts with a vendor to provide a correctional population study to the sponsoring agency. In another agreement, TRC and the KY DOC collaborate to develop and implement a correctional education readiness program for offenders in order to address a gap in services. This program provides correctional education that offers participating inmates with industry trade certifications in Microsoft Office and fiber optic and copper-based cabling. This education program compliments their general adult education classes.
